During this two-day workshop kids learn to connect with nature through the power of photography.  Using digital cameras, they creatively discover new ways to see and appreciate the natural world around them. As part of the program, children are taught how to operate a camera and practice some basic photographic techniques.   Then, on a walking tour of Calf Pasture Beach Park, they can take pictures of the wondrous array of surrounding plants and wildlife, while learning about the importance of the Norwalk Islands to their community and the Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge.

Digital cameras will be provided, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own. And all photographs will be featured on the Friends of the Norwalk Islands web site.

Fee: $20 per session.  Register on the City of Norwalk, Recreation & Parks Summer Program web site or call Friends of the Norwalk Islands, Inc. at (203) 849-8341.

In partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and others our mission is to conserve, protect and enhance the environmental, recreational, commercial and historical significance of the Norwalk Islands and to build awareness of the National Wildlife Refuge System.
